Abundancia

Please visit my other blog to see what has been going on from January to Mid March :)

Just thought I would throw in a few awkward moments that have happened this past week in Paraguay.

1. While working with the people of Abundancia we have gotten to know the missionaries in the area pretty well. We work with them a lot and report all of our work that is being done to their mission president. Our other professor Brother Watson came down to visit us in Paraguay this week. Well, at the grocery store we ran into the Elders. Brother Watson stood at the store for 20 minutes trying to convince the Elders to go to BYU-Idaho because they would find us there when they got off their missions. He went on to tell them that we were women who would be perfect mothers to their children. Kirsten and I were standing there the entire time. Talk about awkward!

2. We go to the ice cream store around the corner about 2 or 3 times a week. Sometimes you just have to considering it is over 100 degrees every day. Well, this week at the ice cream store I sampled a flavor. When you sample a flavor you get a tiny little spoon. As I was walking out I saw the ice cream store worker shake his little cup of little spoons, so without thinking I thought that was where he wanted me to put my dirty spoon since they reuse everything in Paraguay. That was not the case. He was shaking the cup at Brother Shaw, so he could get a spoon for his ice cream. He looked down and the cup and picked out my dirty ice cream spoon and looked up at me. I was so embarrassed. Then looked back down and threw the entire cup of spoons away because I had contaminated all of them. Needless to say I booked it out of that ice cream shop. The face on the ice cream man was priceless. I guess I just bring awkward moments upon myself sometimes.
